MTX Thunder TS85 Subwoofer Review
The main idea behind the square subwoofer is that it moves more air than its round counterpart. That's because the surface area of the former is about 20% greater than the latter. More surface area, the more air you move. That translates into greater output and bigger bass response. Theoretically that's all fine and good, but you still need all the other components working together harmoniously to make a great woofer. And the MTX Thunder TS8512-44 definitely has its parts in order.

Sound Waves of Memphis, Tennessee has yet to win Pioneer's annual Sound Build-Off, but they've built some of the more distinct vehicles to enter that competition. A couple of years ago, Mike Irwin, the store's owner, showcased a unique Karmann Ghia featuring Pioneer's top of the line gear. See the video below and you'll see why the vehicle is so memorable. Extreme Custom Chevy Silverado
Built for a wealthy client who wanted a truck that sounded as formidable as it looked, this was an extensive project that stretched for several months due to the scope of the customization and the changes that occurred along the way. It didn’t have any distinguishing features, and didn’t have a company name, just the name of an individual. I opened it up and discovered a brand new Chrome OS notebook from Google as part of the Chrome Pilot Program.

When Adam Wallow of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, wanted to give his 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged a facelift, he turned to Project Two Customs in Waukesha. On the exterior, the shop made subtle changes, darkening up lights and adding splashes of satin black paint to complement the stock gloss. With the interior, however, they went a few steps further. Project Two Range Rover
When Adam Wallow of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, wanted to give his 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged a facelift, he turned to Project Two Customs in Waukesha. On the exterior, the shop made subtle changes, darkening up lights and adding splashes of satin black paint to complement the stock gloss. With the interior, however, they went a few steps further. While maintaining the spaciousness of the cabin, they completely customized the Range Rover with a new A/V system, upholstery and finishes.

A Corvette built for speed and sound. Phil Hughes' fully custom C5 is a bit of a throwback to the days when guys would have extensive fiberglass work for integrating their audio components in the car. Seeing all the wild custom trucks at the Severed Ties show reminded me of quite a different kind of truck built by Sound in Motion in Allston, Massachusetts. We've all seen loud trucks with big multiple woofers, but it's not as common to see one with such high-end gear, like the Focal Utopia components and Genesis Series III amplifiers. Door Panel Sound Proofing
The next step for our 2011 Kia Sportage project was a layer of sound proofing to the doors. Since the audio install will happen at a later time, no vibration damper was used this time around on the front panels; instead, a layer of closed-cell foam was the weapon of choice, as they are more effective at blocking road and wind noise from entering the cabin. Additionally, this will serve as a tutorial on how to remove the plastic door panels.

Originally this was just some experiment with Windows Movie Maker, but once I got started I had to finish it. This BMW 320i was built by Bass Audio in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Bass Audio is one of the best shops in Brazil and is led by Mauro Castro, a multi-champion in IASCA and a car audio professional with over 20 years experience.
