Renesas announced four SoCs (system on chips) in a new "R-Car" series, which is designed to support Microsoft's Windows Embedded Automotive 7 operating system. The devices include the ARM Cortex-A9-based EC4350, the ARM11-based EC4270, plus the SH-4A-based SH7786 and SH7776, the company says.
